In addition to the multi-volume novel work, also wrote, revised, and polished several short stories and poems.

Forming & Executing a Submission Plan
After that writing, researched which publications would be most likely to welcome each piece. Created a color-coded chart for a submission plan that included info on when the various open-submission periods would begin.

Then submitted them.

How did I do all this at once? I don’t know—but somehow I’m still alive…!

Sharing Thoughts
Anyway, if you also write and submit, carefully matching your work to a journal not only boosts your chances, it helps save time for the readers and editors. They’re heavily challenged and dare I say overburdened at these places, given the high volume of creative work coming in.

And, for us, while reading and coming to our own conclusions about a slew of publications can be overwhelming, it can also be inspiring.
